This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'

Well, we survived "Doomsday 2012," but we're still racing toward the "fiscal cliff." Which just goes to prove that there's always a catastrophe lurking in the future. Though some are real and some imagined, both sorts can stir up anxiety and fear.

That's why it's important for every Christian to learn how to live by faith -- not just in theory, but in practice... everyday, rubber-meets-the-road practice.

Few subjects in the Bible are more important for us to understand than faith.

I think it would be safe to say that many believers have no idea how truly important real faith is to their walk with Christ. In fact, you cannot have a walk with Christ without faith!

The issue of faith pervades every aspect of our relationship with God and our service for Him. Genuine faith is the source of our strength, our provision, our courage, our guidance, and our victory over the world system, the flesh, and the Devil. Faith is the only thing that can sustain us in the trials and persecutions predicted for the last days. It's imperative that we understand exactly what faith is, how we get it, and how it grows.

For the Christian, no other pursuit is as urgent as the quest for faith. This has always been true, but in the light of the prophetic signs that herald the soon coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the inevitable perilous times that will precede it, it's even more urgent today.

This week, I'm going to discuss "The Many Facets of Faith." This special presentation will offer insights into this most important part of the believer's life that perhaps you haven't considered. I may even suggest some things you did not know!

I'm going to answer questions about what faith actually is. I'll discuss the relationship between faith and grace. I'll even tackle the thorny subject of faith versus works. Even if you know all of this, it's healthy to occasionally stop and consider the wonder of God's grace and provision for our lives. It also helps us to review our current attitudes and ask God to revive in us a fresh appreciation of His gift to us -- the gift of faith.

Join me this week to consider "The Many Facets of Faith."

PROGRAMMING NOTES: This weekend marks "The Hal Lindsey Report's" final appearance on Inspiration Network. Inspiration is shuffling its line-up in the new year to make room for more entertainment and family-oriented programming. As a result, there are fewer "ministry" time slots available and not enough to accommodate all of its current ministry programmers. I've enjoyed being associated with Inspiration the last few years and am grateful for all the new friends and supporters we've gained during our time on the network. Thank you for watching faithfully each week and I hope you'll look for us on one of the other networks.

Speaking of "other networks," beginning Sunday, January 6, 2013, you will be able to tune in to "The Hal Lindsey Report" on The Word Network on Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m. EST. More on that next week.

"PROPHETIC YEAR IN REVIEW - 2012": This may be of interest to those of you who live in the San Antonio, Texas area. I will be presenting the 2012 edition of my annual "Prophetic Year in Review" on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Temple Church, 3000 Loop 534, Kerrville, Texas, 78028. I'll look back at the major events of 2012 and examine how they fit into the prophetic scenario. There is no admission charge, but seating is limited. So please call the church office during regular business hours to let them know you'll be attending and how many will be in your party. The Calvary Temple office number is 830-895-3000. I'll see you there.

Finally, thank you for your faithful prayer and financial support of "The Hal Lindsey Report" and Hal Lindsey Media Ministries during 2012. God has used your generosity to help spread the Good News of the Gospel around the world through this television program. I am truly grateful for your willingness to join me as a "watchman on the wall" in these last days. You will share a great reward when, at last, we are gathered to meet our Savior in heaven.

I pray that you will have a blessed, prosperous, and happy new year!

God Bless,

Hal Lindsey
